What is Acid Slurry?
Acid Slurry, more precisely known as Linear Alkylbenzene Sulphonic Acid (LABSA), is the foundational anionic surfactant raw material used across the global detergent manufacturing industry. It is a dark brown to amber, highly viscous and strongly acidic liquid, produced by the sulphonation of Linear Alkylbenzene (LAB). Before use in finished detergent products, Acid Slurry must be neutralised with an alkali (typically caustic soda or soda ash) to produce Sodium LABSA, the active cleaning ingredient in most powder, cake, and liquid detergent formulations.
