Propylene Glycol (PG), chemically known as 1,2-Propanediol, is a synthetic, colourless, odourless, viscous liquid with the formula C₃H₈O₂. It is a diol (two hydroxyl groups) with excellent hygroscopic, solvent, and humectant properties. Propylene Glycol is classified as GRAS (Generally Recognised as Safe) by the FDA and is one of the most widely used chemicals across the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and industrial sectors.
