Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Formic Acid preferred over Acetic Acid for wool dyeing?
Formic Acid provides stronger acidification than acetic acid at the same concentration, making it more effective for achieving the low pH (typically 3.5–4.5) needed for exhaustion of acid dyes on wool and nylon. It also has lower volatility at processing temperatures compared to some other acids. Acetic acid is often preferred for less aggressive pH requirements or where a milder acid effect is appropriate.
What concentration of Formic Acid do you supply for leather tanning?
We supply Formic Acid at standard industrial concentrations of 85% and 94%. The 85% grade is most common for leather pickling applications. Please specify your required concentration when ordering.
Do you supply Sulphamic Acid for textile machine descaling?
Yes — Sulphamic Acid is effective and safe for descaling textile dyeing machines, jiggers and heat exchangers, as it dissolves calcium and iron scale effectively while being significantly safer to handle than hydrochloric or sulphuric acid. We supply it in powder form in 25kg bags.
Do you export textile chemicals outside India?
Yes. We export to Bangladesh (a major textile manufacturing destination), Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and South Africa with full export documentation.
